DESCRIPTION:Please join Chamber of Commerce staff and members\, Town of Parker elected officials and staff\, and other interested citizens for a "Day at the Capitol."  Transportation is provided to/from Parker Town Hall. You'll enjoy a tour of the State Capitol\, time with legislators\, the opportunity to watch the House and Senate in action\, and a learning lunch with guest speakers (TBA) who will enlighten you on how the political machine at the Capitol works.\n\n\n\nIf you haven't been to the Capitol since your middle school field trip\, you're going to love seeing our state government in action with adult eyes!  \n\n\n\nYOU DO NOT need to be a member of the Parker Chamber to participate in this event.\n\n\n\nThe Presenting Sponsor for this event is CORE Electric Cooperative.  Our Lunch Sponsor is Republic Services. Our featured sponsor is Parker Economic Development.\n\n\n\nFrom 8:00am - 8:45am\, we will be offering an optional "orientation" in the lobby of Parker Town Hall. We will discuss what to expect\, how to interact with legislators\, and answer any questions you have about the day.\n\n\n\nThis year we are hiring a coach bus for our day's transportation. Please let us know if you will be utilizing the provided transportation or if you prefer to get yourself to/from the Capitol.  You can rendezvous with the group at the Capitol at 9:30am. If you are riding with the group\, be sure you're at Town Hall no later than 8:45am.\n\n\n\nSchedule:\n\n\n\n8:00am  Meet in the lobby of Parker Town Hall for orientation (optional)\n\n8:45am  Depart for Capitol\n\n9:30am  Arrive at Capitol\, Optional Tour\, Observe Legislative Activity\n\n11:45am  Depart to lunch location (The Wright Room\, 535 16th Street Mall\, Suite 240)\n\n12:00pm  Lunch\, Q/A Time with Legislators\n\n1:00pm  Keynote Speakers\n\n2:30pm  Depart for Return Trip to Parker\n\n3:15pm  Arrive Back at Town Hall (approximate)\n\n\n\nIn case of inclement weather\, participants will be notified by email ASAP and the event will be rescheduled. LOCATION:Optional orientation and coffee at Town Hall\, 8:00-8:45am. Bus departs from Parker Town Hall at 8:45am. Arrival at Capitol by 9:30am. Lunch at Noon at the Wright Room on Denver's 16th Street Mall Arrival back at Town Hall between 3:00-3:30pm.
